Why baptise infants?

I was going to post on John 12, but I decided it was more important to continue my discussion on baptism. I was going to use my book, (the one referenced in the previous post), as I continued this, but I loaned it to a friend, and Gods word has all I need any way.

My pastor did a bible class about baptism several weeks ago, and he asked a question that stumped the whole class. He ended up answering his own question, because we couldn't come up with the answer. His question was, "How do we know that babies are sinful?" We stuttered, and stumbled over this one, and in the end it was pretty straight forward. You see, the bible answers it directly. It is the first part of Romans 6:23.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The answer was, babies die. If they were without sin, then they wouldn't die. Another verse that tells us that babies sin is in Psalm 51:5.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

So, I am therefore convinced that babies sin, and are also, with all of humanity, in need of salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you Jesus, that you have told us to let the little children come to you. In Mathew 19:14 you have said,

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Amen!
