Sticking up for others

Hi, I know it has been a while since I have written, but today I have something to say. Today my bible reading is from the 31 chapter of Psalm. Of course we all think of the "virtuous woman" part of this Psalm, or at least I do. But that was not the thing that caught my attention here. Psalm 31:8 is what caught my attention. It says:

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Now, when I read this I immediately thought of babies who are aborted by their mothers. Who fits the description more perfectly, so I am going to plead right here and now in my little corner of the blogoshpere for those who cannot speak. Please do not kill little babies before they are born. It may be legal murder, but it is still murder. Put your trust in the Lord my God, Jesus Christ. He shall free you from all sin, and be with you in all difficult situations. Please have compassion on these little ones. They cannot plead yet for their own lives, but I will! Amen.

Don't be wise?

Well, at least not in this world. I am reading in 1Corinthians, and in the 18th-23rd verses of chapter 3 it says,

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

This really hit me. Our wisdom as Christians is not of this earth. It is from God, and based on his word, and revealed through the Holy Ghost. Turn from the world, and all the wisdom it flaunts, for the foolishness of God is wiser than the worlds wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than the worlds strength. Trust; therefore, in the Lord, who is strong to deliver! Amen.

Happy Easter

Rejoice, Rejoice, Christ the Lord has risen. He has risen indeed! Blessed be the name of Jesus. He has taken all sins upon himself and paid for them in full. At his name let us all fall on our knees and praise him. Thank you Jesus, for your victory over Satan, death, and hell. No one shall prevail against thee, oh Christ! Amen, and Amen!

I was watching a movie...

It is called "Princess Diaries, The Engagement". I have watched this movie several times, but today I noticed something. There is a scene in the movie that has the princess in a parade. While she is in the parade, she sees some bigger boys being mean to a smaller girl. When she sees this, she stops the parade, and goes and helps the little girl that cannot help herself. Now, as I said, I have seen this movie several times, and I've seen this scene, obviously. Today it was different for me. Today it reminded me that I am suppose to do that. When I see some who can't defend themselves, I should defend them. It reminded me that I am royalty. I am a member of God's family, and as such, I have the authority to stand against evil, and make right the wrongs. I'll tell you a secret. It didn't even seem intimidating. I'll tell you why. I have the power and authority to do it from the ruler of the universe. If that doesn't free you to act I don't know what will. Of course, I'm not going to rob banks to feed the poor, but I can do what I can. If I see someone who needs an advocate, I can stand up for that person. If I see a need, and am able, I can fill that need. If I see sin, I can rebuke that sin. Not to hurt the person caught in the clutches of sin, but to help that person be free of sin. All these things I can and should do because my Father in heaven wants me to. And I want to honor him, because he freely forgives me for Jesus sake. Jesus who died on the cross, so I may be free from sin eternally. Amen.

Why baptise infants?

I was going to post on John 12, but I decided it was more important to continue my discussion on baptism. I was going to use my book, (the one referenced in the previous post), as I continued this, but I loaned it to a friend, and Gods word has all I need any way.

My pastor did a bible class about baptism several weeks ago, and he asked a question that stumped the whole class. He ended up answering his own question, because we couldn't come up with the answer. His question was, "How do we know that babies are sinful?" We stuttered, and stumbled over this one, and in the end it was pretty straight forward. You see, the bible answers it directly. It is the first part of Romans 6:23.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The answer was, babies die. If they were without sin, then they wouldn't die. Another verse that tells us that babies sin is in Psalm 51:5.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

So, I am therefore convinced that babies sin, and are also, with all of humanity, in need of salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you Jesus, that you have told us to let the little children come to you. In Mathew 19:14 you have said,

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Amen!

Infant Baptism

Act 2:38-39

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Hello, I have been studying baptism for years now, and I have finally come to a conclusion on what I believe. I believe that baptism is indeed for infants also. When I started to question it, I didn't know what to believe and there is so much information on the Internet. I got confused, and what I really should have done is close my web browser, and open my bible. In the end, the Lord showed me through his word and through a well written and scriptural book that infant baptism is right and good. The book is called, Baptized into God's Family, and the author is
A. Andrew Das. It was an excellent book, and I highly recommend it. The thing I love the most is all the scripture! You can order this book and WWW.NPH.NET. If you look up the author's name, it will come right up. I will be adding more scriptures to this as I add posts speaking about infant baptism. For now, God bless you as you seek him in all you do. Amen.

Psalm 130

The other day I read this psalm, and it is so filled with truth and comfort, that I thought I would share it with you. I hope that you glean from it comfort and encouragement in your Christian life.

Psalm 130

1Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
8And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

May God bless you as you contemplate his word. Amen.
