Humble

I am sorry I am just getting this site under control, and am still figuring out when the best time for me to work is. I think I am going to have to be some what sporadic with this. Please be patient while I figure this out.

I am now reading through the whole of the four gospels, and my goal is to read all four during lent. I am not giving up on my study of Psalms, but I may post from whatever strikes me. Today I was reading in Mathew 5, and verse 3 stuck out to me. Mathew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Now when I read this it made my heart melt with the sweetness of it. These words were like honey to the soul for me, so I went on and checked the verses that this bible referenced with this verse. the first was Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. The other reference is Isaiah 66:1-2 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. These verses, they show that the LORD has no favoritism. He is so just and good and holy. These verses really show to me the kindness of the LORD. He shows mercy, associates himself with the humble. Shouldn't I do the same thing if I truly love him? Shouldn't I associate myself with those whom he associates himself. It puts the importance of worldly wisdom in its place. It holds no favor with my Saviour! Amen!
