As you know I am going through the Psalms right now in my personal bible study. Today I read 98,99, and 100, and 100 really hit me. It was wonderful, because it is full of the praise and thanksgiving which I am hoping to make more a part of my life.
Psalm 100
1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
This is so full of praise and thankfulness, I think this would be a good verse to memorize and make a part of my regular praise life. Another part of this verse that I like is what it says in verse 3. "...it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves..." We owe our entire being to the Lord. It also made me wonder, does this speak to us as Christians? Because it is certainly the Lord who leads us to trust in him. He makes a change in us from hating him to loving him, so not only in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense, he has literaly made us. It is such a comfort to depend on God and not on myself. When I do something I may fail or succeed, but the Lord always succeeds! I hope to see you later today.
